Improved sales driven by new launches and upgrades have contributed to TVS Motor Co reporting a net profit for the fourth quarter of 2013-14 against a net loss in the corresponding quarter previously.
For the quarter ended March 31, 2014, the company has reported a net profit of ₹52.12 crore (net loss: ₹32.72 crore) on a total income of ₹2,053 crore (₹1,716 crore).
The company has announced a second interim dividend of 75 paise (75 per cent) a share of ₹1 taking the total dividend for 2013-14 to ₹1.40 a share.
Motorcycles sales during the quarter was 1.97 lakh units (1.85 lakh); scooter sales 1.37 lakh units (0.95 lakh); and two-wheeler exports grew to 67,000 units from 52,000 units.
Three-wheeler sales increased to 21,000 units (14,000).
In the current year, the company will introduce a new TVS StaR City+.
Also in the pipeline are upgrades across segments to strengthen the product portfolio.
