Nippon Paint India has launched two premium exterior and interior emulsion paint variants that the company says will keep the house cooler and stain-free.

The exterior emulsion paint Durafresh Xpert, based on Heat Ban Technology, is said to reflect 90 per cent of the sun’s rays, reducing the temperature by up to 5 per cent.

The interior emulsion paint, Spotless Nxt, converts water drops to beads preventing the walls from water-borne stains.

The exterior and interior paints cost ₹375 and ₹300 a litre respectively and will be available in the market in a week. S Mahesh Anand, President (Decoratives), Nippon Paints India, said though Nippon Paints costs more than its competitors, the functionality reduces the need for frequent painting lasting for as long as seven years.

Anand said the company planned to expand its operation in India and proposed to build a manufacturing facility in Haryana by 2017.

Anand said the company was focussing on south India as it had a significant market there.

“We are not going to expand aggressively,” Anand said and added that it will concentrate on increasing sales before setting up factories in all zones.
