Nissan Motor Co. has posted sales of 47,474 units in the domestic market registering growth of 24.2% over the previous financial year. This is the highest ever volume achieved by the company in India, it said in a statement.
Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations said, “We are pleased with the progress we demonstrated in our 10{+t}{+h} year in India. FY 14 has been a significant year when we re-established our India business with an independent sales and marketing organization. The growth we achieved was supported by the launch of two new models and fastest growing network. As we set ourselves a target of 5 per cent market share by FY20, we are focused on sustaining and accelerating our performance.”
Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd, added, “2014 saw a huge focus on sales and marketing activities. Our sales network grew to 176 outlets with 60 outlets added in FY14.”
In India, Nissan offers seven models from two brands, across six segments. The Datsun Go+ is the first sub 4-meter compact MPV. The company has also established a new parts distribution centre and said it will continue investing in India.
