Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NIMPL) on Wednesday reported nearly three fold jump in the sales at 3,467 units in April.
NIMPL had sold 1,201 units in the same month last year, the company said in statement here.
The growth was driven by the sales of the ‘Sunny’ sedan at 2,012 units, it said, adding that the company has sold 16,173 units of Sunny since its launch in September last year.
The ‘Micra’ compact premium hatchback accounted for sales of 1,435 units in April, a growth of 19 per cent compared to the same period in 2011.
The remaining sales came from lifestyle SUV X—TRAIL, Teana premium sedan and iconic 370Z sports car, the company said.
