The new Micra comes with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) gearbox, offering better fuel efficiency and city driving experience. The company also launched an automatic variant, it said in a statement.

The Micra Active is powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine that is reported to have a fuel efficiency of 19.49 kmpl.

Announcing the sales and marketing strategy for the New Micra range, Nitish Tipnis, Director, Sales & Marketing, Hover Automotive India, said the New Micra will be launched nationwide with a comprehensive marketing campaign.

“Our strategy in launching New Micra and Micra Active is to cut across the entire hatchback segment and broadbase our offering to a wider target audience. We will also be using some non-conventional forms of media to maximise product visibility and increase sales,” he added.

The global sales of Micra, also known as March in several countries, exceeds 6.5 million units.
