State-owned iron ore mining major NMDC has commissioned Bailadila iron ore deposit 11B in Dakshin Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. This has a production capacity of 7 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). The corporation has invested ₹600 crore in this project. With the launch of the new front, the production capacity of the corporation has gone up to 32 mtpa from 25 mtpa from the Bailadila sector. The new project has a 3.5-km long single flight regenerative downhill belt conveying system with horizontal and vertical curves, NMDC said in a statement.
