State-owned NMDC today said that its iron ore production for the half-year ended September 30, 2013 has gone up by 5.31 per cent to 12.89 million tonnes.
This is against 12.24 mt produced during the corresponding period last year.
According to a filing with the stock exchanges, NMDC said that its overall ore sales have registered a growth of 8.09 per cent during the first half of the fiscal to 13.75 mt against 12.72 mt during April-September 2012-13.
Sales from Karnataka mines have gone up by 13.33 per cent to 4.42 mt and from Chhattisgarh by 5.78 per cent to 9.33 mt.
Similarly, production of ore from Karnataka mines has gone up by 9.9 per cent to 4.44 mt and from Chhattisgarh by 3.05 per cent to 8.45 mt.
NMDC shares were quoting up by 0.74 per cent at Rs 130 apiece on the BSE in the afternoon trade.
The company also said that its board would meet on October 24 to announce the unaudited financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 (Q2).
