State-owned miner NMDC today said its iron ore sales grew by 5.83 per cent to 7.26 million tonnes (mt) in the quarter ended June 30.
The miner had sold 6.86 mt in the same period last year.
NMDC in a statement to stock exchanges said the iron ore production from its Chhattisgarh mines fell by 1.69 per cent to 4.66 mt. The company produced 4.74 mt during the first quarter in the last fiscal, it added.
It, however, was able to increase production from its Karnataka mine to 2.07 mt with a growth of 4.83 per cent over last year.
The overall production stood at 6.83 mt during April-June quarter against 6.81 mt during the same quarter in FY13.
