NMDC Power Ltd, an arm of the state-owned company, and IL&FS Energy Development Co Ltd will sign a joint venture deal on Wednesday for the setting up of a 2x250 MW power project in Uttar Pradesh.
NMDC has already selected IL&FS Energy as its strategic minority partner through a tender for the Rs 2,000-crore project.
According to sources, the project would feed thermal power to NMDC’s proposed 3 million-tonnes-a-year steel project at Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh.
