PC Parida assumed charge as Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) on March 15. Prior to this, he was Deputy Chairman of Chennai Port Trust since January 2011. He also worked as Deputy Chairman of Mormugao Port Trust from November 2008 to December 2010. He is a graduate in commerce and law and Associated Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India. On assuming charge, he held discussions with all the departments, labour representatives and users of the port and sought their cooperation for the overall development of NMPT, a statement from the company said.
