Amit Nagar and Bhavya Sharma, two high networth individuals based in Noida, have invested $450,000 (around ₹3 crore) in health and wellness start-up Poshtick, which provides functional, nutritional and value-added food products. The funds raised will be used for product development, and to set up an effective supply chain mechanism.

Bhavya Sharma, angel investor, said in a statement, “The health and wellness industry is ₹22,500 crore. When we found Poshtick’s founders making a mark in this industry, we decided to back them.”

She added that health conscious people have been facing extreme difficulty in sourcing healthy mid-meal snacking options.

Poshtick aims at building an end-to-end solution for people who lead busy lives. Its first product, called ‘The Finge Box’, is a combination of fitness and binge, a calorie and portion defined mid-meal snacking solution. Founder Pranav Sharma is a 23-year-old commerce graduate of Delhi University. He used to work in a consulting firm, Grant Thornton, and realised that his sedentary lifestyle had led to him gaining weight. Gyms did not provide the necessary antidote.

Researching further, he realised that there was a genuine lack of availability and accessibility to health foods. Discussing the problem with his friend, Kritik Thakur, a self-proclaimed “nutrition junkie and fitness enthusiast”, the duo teamed up to build a company that would help people stay healthy.

“Our aim is to create healthy snack options and make them accesible and available to the masses,” said Sharma, founder and CEO, Poshtick, in the statement.

Poshtick is building its online presence currently, and is planning to establish its retail presence in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
