Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre celebrated the first anniversary of Planet 21 by launching a modern sewerage treatment plant along with other promotional activities.

Planet 21 is the sustainable development programme of the Accor Hospitality Group launched last year. The focus of this initiative is to spread the message of energy conservation and resource optimisation.

The modern sewerage treatment plant was commissioned in the presence of B. Madhusudhana Rao, Joint Chief Environmental Engineer, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, and Richard Hyde, British Deputy High Commissioner. The plant has been imported from UK.

Peter Frawley, General Manager Delegate, Accor Andhra Pradesh and Goa Hotel Operations, in a statement said: “With Planet 21, Accor Group has decided to take sustainable development to new heights covering the group’s entire environmental, social and community investment actions and placing sustainability at the core of their business strategy worldwide.’’

“We aim to reinvent the hotel industry on a sustainable basis by mobilising our employees, guests and partners to actively contribute to the cause,’’ he added.
