National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), a division of Senaat Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s largest industrial investment holdings company, has announced the opening of a new facility in Hyderabad to serve as a design centre. The engineering, procurement and construction company will to run its design engineering operations through its wholly-owned Indian subsidiary, NPCC Engineering Private Ltd (NEL), Mumbai. The company is expanding its operations in Hyderabad to support its global projects.
Aqeel Madhi, Chairman of the NEL board, in a statement said, “We are excited to deliver services that are cost-effective, efficient and flexible through the Hyderabad office. To successfully operate in today’s market, we must be able to efficiently provide services to our customers that enhance efficiencies and reduces customer cost, while operating at the highest quality standards,” he said. Established in 1973, NPCC provides EPC solutions to both the offshore and onshore oil and gas sectors.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, NPCC’s operations are spread across the Arabian Gulf, India, South-East Asia. It intends to expand operations in Africa and the Caspian regions. NPCC has a long history of working in India with ONGC and other clients, serving the Indian oil and gas industry for over 35 years. The group currently employs over 12,000 personnel of Indian nationality in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi alone.
ONGC recently awarded an offshore project worth over Rs 1,800 crore to NPCC. NPCC operates in India through its subsidiaries, employing over 700 personnel in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Some of the Marine spread is deployed in Indian territorial waters to serve offshore projects. NEL, based in Mumbai, employs over 250 people.
NEL subsidiary, Anewa Engineering Private Ltd (Anewa) in Hyderabad, has over 450 employees. Both these subsidiaries are centres of excellence in design and engineering.
