The board of directors of National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) has approved an investment of over Rs 17,000 crore in two power projects.
The projects coming up in Maharashtra would have a total generation capacity of 2,640 MW.
According to NTPC, its board has given investment approval for the Mouda Super Thermal Power Project having two units of 660 MW each. The project has an estimated cost not exceeding Rs 7,921.47 crore.
The other project — Solapur Super Thermal Power Project — also has an identical capacity (2 X 660 MW) with an estimated cost not exceeding Rs 9,395.18 crore, NTPC said in its filing with the stock exchanges.
