National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd has commissioned Unit-V1 of 500 MW of Farakka Super Thermal Power Station on April 4, taking the commercial capacity of Farakka STPS to 2,100 MW.
This is the third 500-MW unit that NTPC has commissioned in the past one week, either on its own, or in partnership with other entities.
NTPC had commissioned Unit-IV of 500 MW of Simhadri Super Thermal Power Project on March 30. The first unit (Unit I) of 500 MW of Vallur Thermal Power Project of NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Co Ltd, a joint venture of NTPC Ltd and TNEB, was commissioned on March 28.
