NTPC on Monday commissioned a 110 kWp rooftop solar plant at its engineering office complex.
The company said it is focusing on installing rooftop solar PV systems at available roof areas at power stations to meet the energy requirement of its offices.
This is the first model solar rooftop project by NETRA, the R&D wing of NTPC, with features such as remote and string monitoring and seasonal tilt for continuous monitoring and performance studies.
The plant is expected to generate 1,70,000 kWh of energy annually and lead to carbondioxide reduction to the extent of 163 tonnes a year.
The plant was inaugurated by Arup Roy Choudhury, CMD, NTPC.
