NTPC Ltd clocked a 22 per cent increase in net profits at Rs 2,596.76 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2012, against the same quarter in the previous fiscal.
The country’s largest power generating company has a total installed capacity of 39,674 MW.
However, in comparison to the profits (Rs 3,142.35 crore) earned during the quarter ended September 30, 2012, the company’s profits have taken a sharp dip.
The company also reported an increase of 1.76 per cent in total income of Rs 16,529.55 crore during the December quarter, up from Rs 16,244.41 crore registered in the year-ago quarter.
