NTPC on Tuesday reported marginal increase (1.1 per cent) in its net profit at Rs 2527.02 crore (Rs 2498.67 crore) during April-June.
The public sector power producer’s total income from operations reduced to Rs 15,661.85 crore ( Rs 16,165.95 crore).
“For the first quarter, NTPC reported mixed set of results. The company’s top-line declined by 2.2 per cent to Rs 15,613 crore (compared to our expectation of Rs 16,519 crore).
Generation revenues fell by three per cent to Rs 15,711 crore as power generation declined by 3.2 per cent to 57,007 gigawatts,” said Amit Patil, Research Analyst at Angel Broking.
Meanwhile, the company considered Rs 3523.18 crore as contingent liability because of its pending fuel bills with Coal India.
