Om Metals bags Rs 54-cr order for irrigation project in Nepal

Om Metals Infraprojects has secured an order worth Rs 54 crore from the Ministry of Water Resources, Nepal.

The order is for the design, supply, fabrication and commissioning of hydro-mechanical works (mechanised shutters) at the headworks of the Sikta irrigation project. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2015.

The irrigation project has a cultivable command area of 33,766 hectares, including the rehabilitation of the Dunduwa irrigation system which was constructed by the Indian Cooperation Mission in 1964.

Vikas Kothari, Director, Business Development, Om Metals, said, “This is our first order in the irrigation segment overseas following our first hydro-mechanical contract in Africa. Our order book now stands at Rs 800 crore.”
