The ONGC has always been a frontrunner in contributing to nation-building in its operational areas, even though its core activity is oil and gas exploration and extraction, said P. Krishna Rao, Group General Manager-Assets, ONGC Rajahmundry.
He was speaking here on Tuesday on the occasion of disbursement of Rs 1.50 crore aid to the beneficiaries belonging to East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna districts under corporate social responsibility (CSR).
He said the PSU would take steps to improve the quality of life in the region in collaboration with the public and institutions in the area.
He said the ONGC was undertaking safe drinking water campaign in its operational areas by providing reverse osmosis plants. Provision of classroom furniture, construction of library rooms and provision of lab equipment and books for schools and sports kits, besides construction of roads and provision of sanitation facilities were some of the other activities.
