The Rajahmundry Asset of ONGC has commenced gas supply under direct marketing from its isolated fields under the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG). The first of these fields, Vygreswaram, in East Godavari district was put on production on Wednesday, according to a press release.
P.K Rao, Group General Manager-Asset Manager of Rajahmundry Asset, turned on the supply valve ceremonially to start the supply of 10,000 standard cubic metres per day (SCMD) to the consumer, Steel Exchange India Ltd. On the occasion, he highlighted the performance of Rajahmundry Asset.
The mandate to market gas supply from small and isolated fields away from gas grid was given to ONGC by MOP&NG. Krishna-Godavari basin due to its geological structure has a sizable inventory of such fields with potential ranging from 2,500-30,000 SCMD.
The programme was attended by GM (P), Surface Manager, P.V. Sateesh Kumar, Susheel Kumar, GM(Finance)-HSS, Durga Prasad, GM-HWS, Arun Nangia, GM-HES, Prasad, Head-RL, N.Krishna Moorthi, GM(Civil) and staff of Mandapeta (West) Production installation.
