Medical equipment maker Opto Circuits has received approval to market its automated external defibrillators in Japan.
The approval has been granted to the company’s subsidiary ‘Cardiac Science Corporation’ by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to market Powerheart G3 Automated External Defibrillators (AED) in Japan, Opto Circuits said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today.
External defibrillators are medical devices that diagnose life-threatening abnormal heart rhythms or cardiac arrhythmia, and deliver electrical energy to the heart to restore its normal rhythm.
Meanwhile, the shares of Opto Circuits were trading at Rs 280 on the BSE in the late afternoon trade, down 0.23 per cent from its previous close.
