FMCG major Procter & Gamble (P&G) India is strengthening its manufacturing capabilities and expanding footprint in India with plans to set up a new plant in Andhra Pradesh.
“...P&G will be investing in setting up one of our manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad, in keeping with our purpose of touching and improving the lives of consumers, in more parts of India and more completely,” P&G India Associate Director (Product Supply), Mr Madhav Rao, told PTI.
He, however, did not share any financial details of the project.
According to information available on P&G India website, the company currently has five plants and over nine contract manufacturing sites in the country.
Mr Rao said the upcoming manufacturing facility would aim at social and economic development of Andhra Pradesh, by generating significant local employment and supporting the education of underprivileged children in the plant’s community.
The company said that investment-friendly policies of the Andhra Pradesh Government have enabled the company to invest in the state.
Established in 1989, P&G India currently serves over 65 crore consumers in India. Its presence pans across various segments including health and well-being.
The company sells various brands in the country including Vicks, Ariel, Tide, Whisper, Olay and Pantene.
