Consumer electronics major Panasonic on Thursday hinted at starting manufacture of its B2B products in India soon. At present, the company imports the entire B2B portfolio from its facilities in Japan, Malaysia and Thailand.
“Our upcoming Jhajjar facility is 76 acres, of which one-third is allocated for consumer products. We are ready to start production of our B2B offering in the near future,” said Rizhkant Zha, Director, System Sales Division of the B2B vertical. The Jhajjar Technopark is likely to be operational by December.
Sharpening its focus on B2B, the company has launched High Definition Video-Conferencing (HDVC). Toru Hasegawa, Managing Director -System Sales Division, Panasonic India, said, “Year-on-year average growth rate for the sales division was 40 per cent. We are expecting growth to cross 100 per cent this fiscal and a turnover of Rs 655 crore.”
The company has allocated 7 per cent of sales revenue towards marketing and promotion. It is also looking for software alliances for customised software applications for its B2B business.
