Baba Ramdev-promoted FMCG venture Patanjali Ayurveda on Wednesday said it had followed all regulations and norms of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. Reacting to media reports that the company does not have the necessary approvals to make noodles, the company said it is not in violation of any rules.
The statement added that Patanjali has a licence to make pasta in the central licence category. It also said currently the FSSAI cannot give product approvals as it has decided to discontinue the process of product approvals for the non-specified product category.
FSSAI took the decision to withdraw its product approval advisory on the direction of the Supreme Court in August. The food regulator is now looking to bring in a regulation following due process.
