Despite strong sales in key markets of Asia including India, PepsiCo's net profit declined by a fifth for first quarter ended March 19.
PepsiCo Inc reported a net income of $1.144 billion on revenue of $11.93 billion, against a net income of $1.430 billion on revenue of $9.36 billion in corresponding last quarter.
The double digit growth in beverage volumes from India buoyed the global beverage sales by 12 per cent. West Asia and China, which reported a mid-single digit growth, contributed to the beverage sales. The global snacks volume grew by three per cent on the back of a double digit growth in all three regions.
