Royal Philips has extended its brand licence agreement for television business with PE Electronics (a Videocon Group company). In a statement issued here, the company said this agreement has been extended till 2017, with the option that it could be extended further. Under the extended agreement, PE Electronics will continue the development, marketing, sales and after sales services for Philips TVs in the Indian market.
The two companies had first entered into an exclusive brand license agreement in 2010. Royal Philips Senior Vice-President and Head of Global Brand Licensing Andy Mintz said, “This will enable the brand license partnership between PE and Philips to be long lasting, providing continuity for customers and consumers.” Saurabh Dhoot, Director, PE Electronics, added, “We will continue to invest in an excellent TV product portfolio, compelling marketing campaigns and the best consumer care.”
