The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) has restricted production at Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd’s Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) manufacturing unit in Jeedimelta here for violating environmental norms.

In an order, the Board has asked the Hyderabad-based pharma major not to produce beyond 70 per cent of each of the products approved to be manufactured in the unit till the corrective measures are taken.

When contacted, a spokesperson of Dr Reddy’s told

Business Line that out of seven directives of the board, five were already addressed and efforts were on to resolve the remaining issues by jointly working with the board.

There was no adverse impact on the production as there was back-up production facility at the company’s existing plants in Miryalaguda and Visakhapatnam, he added.
