Increasing revenue from its transmission business has helped Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd report a 31 per cent rise in net profit for the third quarter of fiscal 2015-16.
The company’s net profit during the quarter stood at ₹1,613.12 crore against ₹1,288.91 crore in the same quarter last year.
The Board of Directors has also approved interim dividend ₹0.80 per share, which shall be paid on February 16.
During the quarter, the company’s net revenue rose 24 per cent to ₹5,406.58 crore from ₹4,353 crore in the same quarter last year.
The revenue from transmission segment increased to ₹5,244.45 crore during the quarter against ₹4,240.05 crore in the same quarter last year.
On Wednesday, the company’s share price closed 3.86 per cent higher on the BSE at ₹138.40.
