Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd said on Thursday that its board has approved investment in four projects worth nearly ₹1,500 crore.
The biggest of the four projects is installation of Statcom (Static Compensator) in the Western region at an estimated investment of ₹1,071.24 crore.
The commissioning schedule is of 30 months from now.
The company will also procure spare 765/400 KV transformers for the Northern region at a cost of ₹63.56 crore. A fibre optic communication system will also be set up in the Northern region at a cost of ₹197.40 crore to be commissioned within 36 months. The Northern region system strengthening is the fourth investment proposal that was approved.
The investment for this will be ₹148.76 crore.
