Greater NOIDA-based mattresses-maker Prime Comfort Pvt Ltd, projecting to increase its turnover by over five-folds to Rs 450 crore in the next three years, plans to set up a new manufacturing plant near Ahmedabad in 2012 with an investment of about Rs 50 crore.

Mr Praduman Patel, Managing Director, said here on Tuesday that the company is scouting for about seven acres of land for the plant which would have 10,000 ton per annum capacity.

The Greater NOIDA facility, he said, is currently running at 40% of its 10,000 tonne capacity and manufacturing products of polyurethane (PU) foam worth Rs 80 crore.

The one-year-old Prime Comfort, which launched its products in Gujarat on Monday, is targeting the Rs 5,000 crore Indian market in this segment and expected to have a 10% market share in the next three to four years, Mr Patel said.

In particular, its “Refresh” brand of mattresses and pillows have the 3-Zone comfort technology in spring mattresses, based on memory rebound, an offshoot of the memory foam technology developed by NASA. This has been introduced for the first time in India, he added.

Prime Comfort products, available in the price range of Rs 3,500 to Rs 32,000, are being marketed by 25 national distributors.
