Q3 numbers: PepsiCo India posts double-digit revenue growth

Snacks and beverages major PepsiCo on Tuesday said its India business recorded a double-digit organic revenue growth in the third quarter ended September 8.

This is the fourth consecutive quarter of consistent revenue growth for the company’s India business. PepsiCo India started witnessing a positive growth momentum since the fourth quarter of 2017.

PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi said that the company continued to see a very strong operating performance from its international divisions, propelled by developing and emerging markets in the third quarter.

During the earnings call, Nooyi said that India was among the key developing and emerging international markets which witnessed, “double digit organic revenue growth.” Some of the other markets included China, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

PepsiCo India has been focusing on introducing innovations to grow its snacks and beverages portfolio in the past few months. Recently, the company launched Kurkure Twistkeen to strengthen its presence in traditional snacks.

In the past, it has introduced innovations such as Doritos HeatWave, besides introducing product upgrades under brand Lay’s with reduced sodium content.
