Private steel producer, Essar Steel India, today said it has appointed Rajendra Mittal as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Odisha operations.
Mittal takes over this new assignment from Shivramkrishnan who has assumed a larger role at the corporate level as Chief Commercial Officer, a company release said.
Prior to joining Essar, Mittal was in-charge of Uttam Galva’s 3 million tonne per annum steel project in Maharashtra.
The steel company’s Odisha project is a 12 million tonne per annum integrated pellet facility, comprising an iron ore beneficiation plant and a pellet plant in Paradip.
Essar Steel has committed a total investment of over Rs 5,000 crore for this complex, including a plan to set up a steel plant.
