Ramco Cements net profit during the first quarter of the current year has more than doubled compared with the corresponding quarter previously. The company has reported a net profit of ₹ 97.49 crore (₹ 36.26 crore) on a total income of ₹ 950.91 crore (₹ 959.15 crore) for the quarter ended June 30, 2015, on a standalone basis. Drop in fuel prices and overall cost control have contributed to the performance, said the company in a press release. However, the operating cost was impacted by the hike in limestone royalty to ₹83 a tonne from September 2014, an increase of ₹20 over the prevailing rate then.
