The Ramco Cements Ltd on Wednesday reported almost three—fold rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 94.67 crore on the back of lower expenses.
The company’s net profit in the year—ago period was Rs 35.51 crore, it said in a regulatory filing.
The total income from operations was at Rs 952.78 crore during the quarter—under review, as against Rs 961.71 crore in the year—ago period, it further said.
The total expenses from operations stood at Rs 767.64 crore during the period, registering a drop of 10 per cent.
The company’s total expenses from operation in the year—ago period was Rs 852.11 crore, it added.
Commenting on the results, the company said that the operating cost has decreased because of all—round cost reduction activities and softening of fuel prices.
“The company continued to focus on cost reduction measures which enabled the company to reduce the operating cost significantly and the company is confident of reducing the cost further in the coming quarters,” The Ramco Cements Ltd said.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 360.85 a piece on BSE, up 0.61 per cent from the previous close.
