Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) plans to hike its urea production at a cost of Rs 4,000 crore.
RCF said a single stream 2,200 MTPD ammonia plant and a 3,850 urea plant would be set up at its existing facility at Thal.
The selection process for lumpsum turnkey contractors (LSTK) for the main plants has been completed.
The expansion will be completed in 36 months.
Efforts are on to tie-up for feedstock and obtain environmental clearance.
The company will begin the process for raising finance and the LSTK contract will be awarded after receipt of necessary clearances, it said.
