Ratan Tata has not been briefed properly by his office about the industrial growth in West Bengal, the State IT, Finance and Commerce & Industry Minister, Amit Mitra, said here on Thursday.
Mitra told reporters here: "Onar matibhrom hoyche..." (which translated to English means: He has become senile). He said this while referring to the Tata Group Chairman and his comments on industrialisation.
Calling Tata "senile", the Industry Minister sought to clarify that even Tata Group companies - like TCS and Tata Metalliks - are looking to expand their operations in the State.
"The list of industries looking to set up shop here in Bengal is long and I need a whole day to read it out," Mitra said on the sidelines of a seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry.
"I am surprised that he was not briefed properly by his team; nor does he know about the expansion of his own Group companies here in the State. He should concentrate on his hobbies..... He has become senile.....," Mitra told reporters.
