Tata Sons Interim Chairman Ratan N Tata today met Tata Motors’ union leaders in Mumbai, ahead of the automobile major’s board meeting on November 14.
The meeting with the union leaders of the company's Pune plant started at 3.00 p.m. and ended about 45 minutes later.
“We have a long-lasting relation with Tatas as we have been working with the company for the last 25 years. We had come to meet him,” is all what Sameer Dhumal, President of Tata Motors Employees Union-Pune, was ready to divulge.
“We are not directly involved in any management decision and we came to express our feeling for him,” Dhumal said, when asked about the ongoing tussle between Tata and Cyrus Mistry. He added that the union will issue a press release soon. Tata Motors Employees Union-Pune is the company’s single largest employees union with 7,250 members.
