Reliance Communications has rolled out new television commercials featuring Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and her family for its all-share post-paid plan.

The commercials have been conceptualised by Grey India, produced by Rising Sun, and directed by Shoojit Sircar.

Anushka’s teenage brother storms into the room where she is watching TV with the parents, holding a Reliance phone bill, demanding an explanation as to why his name does not feature on the bill for a plan that is supposed to be shared by a family.

Anushka plays a joke on her unsuspecting brother and then breaks the idea of the ‘family plan’ that Reliance has brought out that will allow family members to share talk, text and data.

Sanjay Behl, Group Head, Brand and Marketing, Reliance Communications, said, “The new plan is the first of-its-kind offering in the country to provide compelling new experience to subscribers using multiple smart communication devices with the exclusive facility to share voice, data and text on a single bill giving them affordability along with great convenience. Almost like a ‘one bill’ concept for the entire family or group.”

Malvika Mehra, National Creative Director, Grey India said, “The audience has been enjoying the chemistry between the characters played by Anushka and Ranvijay. This is the first time we are introducing Anushka’s family so there is a new energy in this film.”

She added, “There is also an interesting take on the music, we purposely did a filmy and dramatic track in sync with the joke they all play on the poor brother.”
