Reliance Infrastructure Ltd today announced that it had commissioned a 400 kV double circuit transmission line between Solapur and Kolhapur in Maharashtra through its wholly owned subsidiary, Western Region Transmission (Maharashtra) Pvt Ltd.

The 1.500-km line was put up at a cost of Rs 1,400 crore. The company will continue to own, operate and maintain the line. The project was awarded to Reliance Infrastructure through a tariff-based international competitive bidding process.

At present, Reliance Infra is executing five transmission projects across the country at a total investment of Rs 6,600 crore, the company said in a notice to the stock exchanges today.

Reliance Infrastructure also provides ‘engineering, procurement, construction’ services for developing power and road projects and currently has orders on hand worth Rs 17,280 crore.

In 2011-12, the company achieved a turnover of Rs 17,906 crore, on which it made a net profit of Rs 2,000 crore. Each share earned Rs 75.70.

On the BSE, the Reliance Infrastructure share is currently trading at Rs 568.
