Reliance Power said boiler light up has been achieved for its fourth 660MW unit at its 3,960 MW Sasan power plant in Madhya Pradesh.
Boiler light up is a critical milestone ahead of commissioning of a unit.
The first 660 MW unit of the plant was commissioned in March 2013 and the second in January 2014. The third unit was synchronised to the grid in March 2014.
The first three 660 MW units of the project which comprise 50 per cent of total capacity are now operational.
Coal production has already commenced at the 20 million tonne Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines associated with the power project.
