Renault India has increased the prices of the flagship Koleos premium SUV by Rs 1 lakh to Rs 23.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), effective from January 1.The price increase is a result of a higher import costs for the company after a devaluation of the rupee over the last few weeks. The Koleos is imported as a fully-built unit. “This has been necessitated by the increase in the cost of raw materials and fluctuations in the currency market.
Until now we have been absorbing the increases, but we now have to reflect an element of these costs in our pricing,” said Mr Marc Nassif, MD, Renault India. The Koleos was launched in India in September this year and is sold across five continents and in markets such as Europe, South America and Asia-Pacific. It has a 2-litre dci diesel engine with a maximum power output of 150PS and features Dual Zone Auto AC and a Bose Music System. Renault also sells the Fluence sedan and the Pulse small car in India.
