Boosted by its new models, Renault India has reported over five-fold jump in sales at 4,914 units in January.
The company had sold 885 vehicles during January 2012.
Sports utility vehicle Duster accounted for 3,554 units, sedan Scala 812 units, compact car Pulse 403 units, sedan Fluence 108 units and SUV Koleos 37 units, Renault India said in a statement.
Commenting on the numbers, Renault India Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Sumit Sawhney said: “2012 was a year of growth for Renault India, with over 35,000 units sold across the nation as well as the beginning of export of Duster. The new year is now all set to see us continue this drive with strong domestic sales in January.”
Renault cars are produced at the manufacturing facility located in Oragadam, Chennai, with a capacity of four lakh units per annum.
