French auto major Renault today launched an updated version of its compact car Pulse, with prices starting at Rs 5.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
“Pulse is an important part of our product portfolio and we have made several product enhancements to make the 2015 Pulse even more attractive and exciting for customers,” Renault India Operations Country CEO and Managing Director Sumit Sawhney said in a statement.
The new Pulse, which has been launched with a 1.5 litre diesel and 1.2 litre petrol engines, comes with various features including automatic headlamps, steering mounted controls and a height adjustable driver seat for better comfort.
The company denied the reports that it has stopped the production of Pulse and Scala from its Chennai facility.
“Contrary to the reports of Renault stopping its production of Pulse and Scala, it has been confirmed that there is no stoppage of production of these products at the Oragadam plant in Chennai,” sources said.
The company manufactures sedans Fluence and Scala, hatchback Pulse and SUVs Duster and Koleos at its Oragadam manufacturing facility in Chennai.
Sources said the company also has product refreshment plans for Scala. Both Pulse and Scala will continue to be an important part of Renault’s product portfolio going forward, they added.
