Rentokil Initial India, a business services firm of the UK, has acquired Gujarat-based pest control service provider PestconePlus for an undisclosed sum, thereby expanding its footprint in the country.

“Acquisition of PestconePlus Ltd marks our entry into the state of Gujarat, an emerging market in India. We will continue to build our regional strength in India through organic and inorganic growth.

“This acquisition further strengthens our presence in India and supports our journey of accelerated growth through differentiated services,” Rentokil Initial India Managing Director Sam Easaw said in a release here. The firm gave no financial details about the buyout.

Rentokil is one of the largest companies in the world in its field, operating in over 60 countries and delivering essential services in areas such as hygiene, workwear, pest control, plants and food. It operates in more than 35 Indian cities through 700-plus employees.

The acquisition strengthens Rentokil’s wide range of service offerings, customers base and core competencies, in line with its strategy to be “experts in the essential hygiene”, Easaw said.

The buyout of PestconePlus, which has offices across India, will help in bringing an experienced local management team into the company. The immediate focus will be on introducing some of Rentokil’s industry leading technologies and employee development here, the release said.

Rentokil intends to provide sector-wise differentiated pest control and hygiene services in India. Furthermore, the acquisition of PestconePlus supports Rentokil’s goal of offering enhanced and specialised services in food processing, pharma, IT, industrial and manufacturing sectors.
