RINL assured all help in securing captive mines

Lokesh Chandra, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, said here on Tuesday that the expansion project of Visakhapatnam steel plant was proceeding smoothly.

He complimented RINL on its capability to compete with major steel makers such as SAIL and Tisco despite not having captive mines.

Earlier, he inaugurated the base mix unit of the sinter plant no. 3 built as a part of the expansion project to take the capacity of the plant to 6.3 million tonnes from 3 mt.

He said the efficiency of employees and the right kind of leadership were largely contributing to the success of the organisation.

He said RINL would reach a better position after stabilisation of its expansion and he assured all help would be rendered for allotment of mines. He advised RINL to run the plant as efficiently as possible to enable better realisation at the investment in expansion. He spoke about the challenges ahead of the company as it is aiming at 20 mtpa.

The Chairman and Managing Director A.P Choudhary appreciated the help provided by the Ministry of Steel in pursuing allotment of iron ore mines to RINL in different States.

Lokesh Chandra visited various production units in the plant. Umesh Chandra, Director (Operations), T.K Chand, Director (Commercial), Y.R Reddy, Director (Personnel), and N.S Rao, Director (Projects) participated in the interaction.
