Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) registered a growth of 9 per cent in saleable steel during April-August 2013.
In spite of sluggishness in the domestic as well as the global market, the unlisted PSU steel maker achieved a turnover of Rs 1,260 crore in August, 17 per cent higher than that in the corresponding month last year.
Sales in 2013-14 up to August recorded a growth of 6 per cent. The saleable steel and special steel sales represented a growth of 8 per cent and 13 per cent respectively. The proportion of special steel in total saleable steel sales stood at 80 per cent during April-August FY2014 compared to 77 per cent in the same period last fiscal. RINL has 630 rural dealers.
