The first despatch of 7 mm plain coils from the newly commissioned wire rod mill-2 was flagged off on Friday at the Visakhapatnam steel plant. DN Rao, ED (W)-I/C, handed over the documents to R Shankar, ED (Marketing). The most modern and sophisticated WRM-2 was built at a cost of around ₹900 crore as part of the expansion project, according to a press release. P Madhusudan, the CMD of the RINL, congratulated the employees on achieving the milestone and urged them to work for achieving the full rated capacity and sustain the production levels.
