With the Valentine’s Day falling on a weekend, many upscale hotels in cities have bundled rooms with special dinner to offer an exciting experience. The rooms which otherwise would cost upwards of ₹8,000 a night come at less than ₹4,000.
For example, Hilton in Chennai offers a romantic dinner for two with a room to spend a night and a breakfast the next day – all at ₹8,999, as a special Valentine’s Day offer.
Hyatt’s luxury brand Park Hyatt, too, promises an elegant evening— a special dinner with an Indian twist to the contemporary Western menu, for two, at ₹3,400.
If the couple choose to stay back, a room will be offered with a bottle of sparkling wine and breakfast the next day – again at an all-inclusive price of ₹10,400.
JW Marriott in Bengaluru says you don’t even have to drive in. For an excessive luxury experience, pay ₹35,000 and get chauffeured in a BMW 5-series, indulge in an aromatherapy in the spa, have dinner at the Italian specialty restaurant ALBA, spend the night in a luxury room and get dropped at home after breakfast.
Vivanta by Taj, Gurgaon, offers an exclusive ‘Weekend Romance’ stay package that includes a discount on F&B, Spa services and complimentary upgrade to next room category at a price of ₹7,000.
This rate includes complimentary treatment at spa and drop to shopping malls during the day.
At a time when occupancy levels are struggling to go past 40-45 per cent in most cities during weekends, occasions like this throws up opportunities to hotels to sell their inventory. “Such occasions will enable us to take our average occupancy a shade higher,” observed a senior executive of the industry.
