Reliance Power Ltd has said the boiler light up at the first 660 MW unit of the Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant has been made and the unit is likely to be commissioned five months ahead of schedule.
RPL said that coal production had begun from the 20 million tonnes Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines and the plant has been connected to the national grid. SUMPP will have a total generation capacity of 3,960 MW, making it the largest integrated power plant and coal mining project with an estimated investment of more than Rs 20,000 crore.
